Experience a deeper release and more profound changes as you learn new positions on the ball.
This class supports those wishing to continue to learn and
practice MRT on a regular basis. Each class includes a 3 - 5 minute Guided Meditation/Visualization
that promotes a deeper release and helps you on your journey of self-healing.
COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT WILL I LEARN IN MUSCLE RELEASE THERAPY CLASSES?
You will learn two positions on the ball each week (an upper body position and a lower
body position). As well, you will learn a Whole Body Move and breathing exercises. You
will become aware of your individual patterns of movement and how your patterns are
affecting your body alignment and posture.
DO I NEED TO PRACTICE IN BETWEEN CLASSES?
Yes, I recommend that you spend at least 15 minutes per day practicing the positions
that you learn each week. To receive the full benefit of Muscle Release Therapy it
is necessary to spend time on the balls between classes. The more time you spend on
the balls, the more profound the results. The students that make time for MRT
in their daily routine report the greatest improvement in their wellbeing
throughout the 4 weeks of classes.
ARE NOTES OR HANDOUTS PROVIDED?
At the first class you will receive an outline of the positions you will be learning.
This outline will help you to remember the positions as you practice them at home
between classes.
IS MUSCLE RELEASE THERAPY PAINFUL?
Muscle Release Therapy should not be painful. If you experience pain during MRT,
it is important to move the ball to a different location, use a softer ball or build
up the time spent on the balls more slowly.
HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE IN EACH CLASS?
Classes are limited to a maximum of 5 participants so that each person can receive the
attention and support they need to learn Muscle Release Therapy.
HOW LONG ARE THE CLASSES?
Classes are one hour long.
The door will be open approximately 20 minutes before the start of each class. I suggest
that participants arrive a few minutes early the first class.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO CLASS?
Comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. Avoid extremely loose or baggy clothing.
Exercise clothing is not necessary. Muscle Release Therapy is usually done in bare feet or
socks - shoes are removed at the door.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING WITH ME?
All equipment is provided. If you wish, bring a bottle of water.
WHAT IF I MISS A CLASS?
I encourage people to check their schedules carefully before registering to avoid missing any
classes. My classes are usually filled to capacity so it is not possible to make up a class.
IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULD KNOW?
Muscle Release Therapy is usually down on the floor so a certain degree of mobility is required.
If you need assistance getting down on or up off the floor, please let me know. You will have
to negotiate a short flight of stairs to attend classes - assistance is available if required
(the Muscle Release Therapy studio is not wheelchair accessible).
